Tilapia Welfare Trained: Foundation course for companies

Why Take This Course? 

This course is for Tilapia producer companies, processing companies and retailers that are starting their welfare journey and want to join the Tilapia Welfare Badges program. It supports teams in understanding what tilapia welfare is and how to apply welfare indicators in daily farm management. Learners gain the practical skills needed to recognise, score and improve welfare indicators, preparing the company to qualify for the Tilapia Welfare Trained Badge. 

Can Individuals Take This Course?

This course is designed for tilapia companies aiming to get the Tilapia Welfare Badges. If you are a student, veterinarian, consultant or an individual interested in tilapia welfare, we recommend completing the free FAI Academy Tilapia Welfare courses, which covers most of the core concepts included here.

• Recognise that welfare is not the same as health 

• Explain the tilapia’s life cycle

How the Course Works 

• Fully selfpaced online course 

• Teams can start anytime and learn at their own speed 

• Recommended duration: 1 hour per week for 4 weeks

Assessment 

• Final quiz with multiplechoice questions 

• Passing score: 100% 

• Multiple attempts 

Certificate and Badges 

• Each team member receives a certificate upon course completion 

• Certificate appears in Achievements 

• Valid for 12 months 

• Once all team members finish the course, the company receives the Tilapia Welfare Trained Badge
